Collection: Twining tea

Twinings - signboard with the text: Twinings, tea and coffee merchants

Twinings of London has specialized in tea since the early 18th century. At the end of the 17th century, tea was officially introduced in England as a new product. The young Thomas Twining, who came from a family of weavers, saw that the new social drink, first drunk among upper class ladies but soon in all layers of the population, would offer more possibilities for the future than traditional weaving.

In 1813, Richard Twining made a blend at the behest of Prime Minister Charles Grey, who had been given such a blend by a Chinese Mandarin (high official in Imperial China). This Earl Gray tea and later also Twinings English Breakfast are the best known and most drunk blends of Twinings.
Today, the range consists of classic tea blends, green tea, herbal and fruit infusions and the tea is drunk all over the world. In 2017, the flagship store (photo above - The Golden Lyon - 216 Strand in London) also celebrates its 300th anniversary.

In our range you will find the most important teas from Twinings, the classics, the green and white teas, infusions and of course all Earl Gray varieties including Lady Gray and Russian Earl Grey.
