Aged White Tea - White Pu Erh

This white tea is soft and fragrant, with aromas of salmiak and soft fruit. The brewed tea is light gold in color.

This special quality of wild-growing tea trees is picked in the winter months in Yunnan, in southern China. As the leaves oxidize, the leaf buds change color from cream-white to moss-green tones. The processing is very natural: after picking, the leaf buds are dried in the sun. A nickname for this tea is also called "White Pu-Erh" because the tea variety is the same as that of Pu Erh. And also this tea is stored to mature. This "aging" ensures that more flavor nuances are created.

White tea

White tea is the least processed tea of the 6 main classes. Usually the tea is picked and dried. Sometimes only young leaf buds are used as for this tea and that makes the tea more exclusive. In other varieties, the classic "two leaves and a bud" is also picked. So 2 leaves and a leaf bud. That is the more common method.

White tea is not necessarily white. The name comes more from the white hairs that you find on the youngest tea leaf. Some tea plants oxidize quickly and then you also see brown leaves. The brewed tea is then slightly more yellow in color.
