The coffee beans of Van Hilst Koffie en Thee belong to the so-called Specialty Coffee. That is high quality coffee beans, which are produced on a small scale. The coffee farmers who produce for us get the best reward for a good product. And the best coffee beans are grown and processed in a natural way. Good pay, high quality and a natural product therefore go well together. A quality mark is not always required for this.

In collaboration with our coffee roaster, we buy more and more coffee directly from the coffee farmer or cooperative. As a result, the lines are short: coffee farmer > roastery > webshop.

We primarily recommend espresso beans for fully automatic machines and espresso machines, even if you use them to make a regular coffee, cappuccino or lungo. The sophisticated espresso blends provide the best taste in fully automatic machines. But there are also gems from Guatemala and Indonesia , for example, that naturally have a nice balanced taste. And if slow coffee is more your thing, then there are beautiful beans from Colombia and Rwanda, for example.

All our coffee beans are roasted on a small scale and traditionally with personal attention to quality, both during roasting and packaging.
