Classic black tea
A classic tea with large leaves. Full and soft in taste.
This blend comes from various plantations in Sri Lanka and is of excellent quality. The hand-picked leaf is processed in a traditional way and gives a bright brown-red color and fine aroma in the head.
Ceylon
The name Ceylon dates from colonial times and was then the name for Sri Lanka. Where the Dutch first tried to grow coffee in Sri Lanka, the English were later much more successful with tea.
Today, Sri Lanka is one of the leading producers of quality tea. They mainly make broken and orthodox black leaf tea, although there are small initiatives to also produce other tea classes for the high-end tea market. Farmers and producers are thus looking for the difference in the market.
Traditional tea drinking
The tea tradition in Sri Lanka is strongly influenced by the English way of drinking tea. So from fine porcelain cups, with milk and sugar. In England, however, cold milk is used. In Sri Lanka prefer warm milk.
