Each piece of Bunzlau Castle tableware is crafted entirely by hand using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. The production process begins with carefully selected clay, which is placed in specially shaped molds and allowed to dry and harden slowly.

Once the ceramic has become firm enough, the molds are removed and any small imperfections are smoothed by hand. Then, each piece is given its distinctive blue rim and fired for the first time. After this initial firing, also known as bisque firing, the tableware is ready for decoration.

The characteristic Bunzlau Castle patterns are applied by hand using sponge stamps and refined with brushwork for the finest details. This artisanal method gives every plate, bowl, and mug its own distinctive look and unique character.

After decorating, the tableware is coated with a protective layer of glaze and fired again at a temperature of no less than 1250 degrees Celsius. This high firing temperature creates the strong and durable ceramic for which Bunzlau Castle is renowned.
