Van Hilst Koffie en Thee is the first in the Netherlands to have CO ₂ -neutral roasted coffee. And we are quite proud of that.

CO ₂ neutral: how is that possible?

By offsetting CO ₂ emissions in sustainable forestry and cookstove programs. € 9.45 is invested per tonne of CO ₂ .

A cookstove is a small cooking appliance used in developing countries that uses fuel efficiently. As a result, less firewood is needed, so there are also fewer emissions and it ensures less deforestation.

In addition, investments are being made in making coffee cultivation by small farmers more sustainable , thereby discouraging deforestation. For example, by encouraging farmers to continue growing coffee sustainably (instead of cutting down forests and choosing more lucrative crops) and rewarding them for that choice.

Furthermore, our own energy supply is 100% green electricity. We generate more electricity with our own solar panels than we use annually.

Specialist

Van Hilst Koffie en Thee is a specialist in coffee beans . Our coffee comes from all corners of the world and is freshly roasted 3 times a week. Both blends for filter coffee, espresso machine and fully automatic machine, as well as coffee beans from one origin (single estates) or one plantation. Read more about the coffee varieties .

Farmers Direct

Some coffee varieties are also purchased as a whole directly from one plantation. It's called Farmers Direct . As a result, the coffee farmer has a better yield for his work and the coffee.

Orders are shipped daily. If you order before 4:00 PM, your coffee will be shipped the same day. Some varieties are roasted fresh for you, the delivery time may be slightly longer. In that case we always e-mail, so that you know that your order is being processed.
