TIP: AMBIENT BREW
Fancy a coffee but want to drink it nice and cold? You can easily make cold coffee as an "ambient brew", or brewed at room temperature. To do this, put 30 grams of your favorite coffee, such as our Ethiopian coffee, ground for filter coffee, in a jug and add 1 liter of water. Leave it for 12 hours at room temperature. Then pour the coffee through a filter and let it cool in the refrigerator.
Serve with a few ice cubes. Simple and refreshing.
Want to add a little something extra? Then a little sweetness is always a good idea. Honey or syrup dissolves more easily than sugar.
A sprig of dried thyme over the rim of your glass gives a delicious herbal aroma while drinking.

The origin of coffee
Coffee - and its stimulating effect - was probably discovered in Ethiopia about 1500 years ago. The word coffee comes from the Ethiopian town of Kaffa. A goat herder is said to have seen that his goats became extremely energetic by eating coffee berries. Monks then supposedly made a stimulating drink from the berries.
From Ethiopia, coffee bushes were taken to Yemen, where coffee production was cultivated until coffee drinking became popular in Europe in the 17th century. Elsewhere in the world (Java), new coffee-growing regions emerged. Ethiopia is therefore the oldest coffee-growing region in the world. And a lot of coffee is still grown there. Ethiopia ranks fifth in the world among coffee-producing countries. Coffee is the most important export product.
Our Direct Trade Ethiopian coffee comes from Sidamo, formerly a southern province in Ethiopia. The Suke Quto Producers Association is located in the Guji zone, one of the Oromia regions in southern Ethiopia, not far from the Kenyan border. Originally, the plantation with its washing station and dry mill was about 5 hectares in size. But after a major forest fire, farm manager Tesfaye Bekele took the initiative to distribute coffee and shade tree seeds to the farmers around the plantation to replant together. His love for nature has ensured that the local community now has a steady income.

FARMERS DIRECT
Some types of coffee are also sourced wholesale directly from a single plantation. This is called Farmers Direct.
An important part of this is Farmer Direct Coffee, which focuses on the connection between coffee farmer and coffee drinker. Direct collaboration creates greater transparency in the coffee supply chain and allows us to know where our coffee comes from.
-
FRESHLY BAKED
We roast our coffee beans twice a week, so the coffee is always fresh.
Orders are shipped daily. If you order before 4:00 PM, your coffee will be shipped the same day.
Some varieties are roasted especially for you, which may result in a slightly longer delivery time. In that case, we will always send you an email so you know that your order is being processed.
-
GROUND COFFEE
Many people grind the beans themselves in a superautomatic machine or with a grinder next to the coffee machine.
No grinder at home? Then we will grind the beans for you. With the 250 and 500 gram packages, you can choose your grind.
You can read more here about coffee grinding and the packaging.
