Coffee beans from Tarrazu, Costa Rica are among the best in the world. Costa Rica, with its rich, well-drained volcanic soil, was the first Central American country to grow coffee for commercial reasons. Only Arabica coffee beans are grown in Costa Rica. Tarrazu is one of the most famous coffee regions in the country. This coffee is a 100% arabica coffee.

Het Tarrazu district

In Costa Rica vind je uitsluitend Arabica planten. Robusta planten zijn er zelfs verboden! Dit levert een klassieke cup op, maar zeker geen vervelende. Als er één koffie is die daar het bewijs voor levert, is het deze Costa Rica Tarrazu. Dit gebied is wereldberoemd om zijn superieure koffie.

Het productieproces voltrekt zich volgens de natte methode. Na het nodige handwerk, rust de koffie vervolgens in ‘perganimo’: in de hoornschil die de koffieboon omhult. En zie daar: een spannende klassieker!
