Description
This Ceylon gives a clear, rich, copper-colored decoction with a nice, fresh taste. The leaves are coarse (Orange Pekoe) and from organic cultivation.
Organic cultivation is complicated and strictly regulated. Fertilizers, pesticides and weed killers must contain absolutely no chemicals and must be based entirely on substances such as manure, compost and natural biological materials.
This tea comes from the Haputale district in Sri Lanka and the plantation is located at an altitude between 1500 and 2000 meters. This Ceylon tea is therefore a high grown Ceylon.
Highgrown Ceylon tea is known for the richer taste of the tea. It is naturally cooler in the mountains, so the shrub grows more slowly, resulting in a more intense flavour.
