Coffee with a sweet, full body
The climate conditions and soil conditions in this mountain range are extremely suitable for coffee cultivation. The name Turquino does not refer to the place of origin, but to the size of the bean. Lavado means -washed- and is about the processing process. This delicate process leads to a rich coffee, with a smooth aroma and an exciting sweetness that tends to honey.
Compared to other coffee beans from the Caribbean, Cuban beans grow quite low, giving it a bright flavor profile with relatively low acidity. The Cubans love their own coffee and like to let others taste it. Besides rum and cigars, it is the export product of their island.
Cigars
The coffee beans are delivered directly to the state of Cuba, with a good compensation to the coffee farmer. When you think of Cuba, you might think of Fidel Castro, rum and cigars. But Cuba is also known for its unique coffee beans. Coffee farmers who had fled from Haiti started growing coffee on the slopes of the Sierra Maestra from 1789. Most Cuban coffee is still grown there. Our famous Turquino quality also comes from here.
