This green tea got its name from an agent of the British India Company, who compared the appearance of the tea to gunpowder. The Chinese also call this tea pearl tea. Each leaf is rolled into a solid spherical ball that "explodes" when infused.
Fine Gunpowder has a yellow-green infusion with a clear, fresh-bitter aroma. In Morocco, this tea is the basis for the famous peppermint tea.
