Description
Beautiful, full but mild and spicy tea from the lower Sabaragamuwa district in Sri Lanka. This tea has a strong aroma and a slightly sweet taste. The tea is clear in color in the cup.
Pettiagalla means "box-shaped rock" and this rock is therefore characteristic of the plantation. The plantation is already old and dates back to 1880.
(The switch from coffee to tea was started in Sri Lanka in 1870. Coffee production was not successful because the coffee bushes were plagued by diseases and fungi. The choice of tea eventually became decisive for the development of Sri Lanka.)
